Selma Lois Clayton

Selma Lois Clayton was born in Aransas Pass, Texas on September 12, 1930 at home to Julius A. Hander and Vera Laura Broadway Hander. She lived most of her early years in the Aransas Pass area. On October 5, 1950 she married Joe Neil Clayton in Abilene Texas to whom she remained married until her death. She was a member of the Church of Christ being baptized into Christ as a youth and remained faithful to the Lord. She passed from this life on October 27, 2015.

To Selma and Joe were born 4 children, Terry Lynn (1951), Selma Michelle (1953), Dana Jo (1955), and Cheryl Juline (1962). She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joe Neil, her four children and their spouses, 11 grandchildren, 4 great granddaughters, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives.

She and her husband lived several places in the U.S. while he served as a gospel preacher for different congregations of the Church of Christ. Her whole live was devoted to being a mother and wife of a preacher who followed the ways the Lord commanded.

She garnered respect from many, many people around the nation because of her role as a preacher's wife and because she hosted people in her home fulfilling the scripture Romans 12:13 - Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality." It has been said of her, "She was always a beautiful person and so sweet."

On Saturday, October 31st, a host of family and friends will mourn her passing and rejoice in her life with Christ
