Sebastian Vasquez

Sebastian Vasquez Jr., 73, was surrounded by loved ones when called home to his heavenly father on May 30, 2015. Sebastian was a founder and active member of his church; Iglesia El Shaddai De McKinney. Sebastian loved spending time with his wife, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his free time he enjoyed spending hours tending to his garden and many carpentry projects.

Sebastian was born to Sebastian Sr. and Sabina Saenz Vasquez in Harlingen, Texas on July 31, 1941. He married Amelia Chavez his wife of 52 years on April 29, 1963 in Raymondville,TX and together raised 6 children with patience, discipline and humility.

Sebastian is survived by his wife, Amelia; and daughters, Sylvia Huber, Yolanda Stephens and husband Todd, Linda Sandlin, Sandra Franco and husband Tony, Janie Griffith, Jennifer Duggan and husband John. His grandchildren, Garrett McFarland and wife Kayla, Tye Stephens and wife Jamie, Michael Franco, Kaitlin Huber and fianc Shelby Berry, Chase Stephens, Ryland Griffith, Riley Griffith and Jacob Duggan. Great grandchildren, Mallory McFarland, Hayden Stephens, Landon Guffey and McKenna McFarland. Sisters Martha Grimes, Estella Segovia, Lupe Lucio, Irene Soria, Delia Grothe, Irma Brown and Elizabeth Sicks. Brothers Jose Vasquez, Fulgencio "Cacho" Vasquez, Rudy Vasquez and Danny Vasquez. He is preceded in death by sister, Toni Basye and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday, June 2 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 601 S. Tennessee St., McKinney, TX 75069.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 3 at Charles W. Smith & Sons McKinney Chapel, 601 S. Tennessee St, McKinney TX 75069. Followed by the burial ceremony at Pecan Grove Cemetery, 1701 S. McDonald, McKinney, TX 75069.
