Sara Imogene Messer, 81, of Allen, passed away on December 17, 2010. Sara was born on January 6, 1929 in Friendswood, Texas. She married Leslie Robert Messer on December 27, 1947.
Sara was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a compassionate friend. She was an avid reader, skilled seamstress, and especially loved her Maltese dogs. Sara was adored by all who knew her and will always be remembered and loved.
Sara was proceeded in death by her husband Leslie Robert Messer, her parents Alexander and Ruth Cargill, and by her sister Louise Cooper.
She is survived by her sons Kenneth, Lee, and Kevin Messer; brothers Alec and John Cargill and sister Elizabeth McLean; and grandchildren Chris, Brandon, Erich, Sarah, and Allyson Messer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to The American Cancer Society.
Services for Sara will be held 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Chapel, 2925 Fifth Street in Sachse, Texas 75048, 972-414-5050.
Burial will take place in Austin, Texas at the Assumption Cemetery 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 23, 2010.
