Sandra Gayle Phillips

February 24, 1949 — May 6, 2016

Sandywas born on February 24, 1949 in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to father Charles E. Gray and loving mother Jetta Downey Gray. She grew up in a large, loving family with four brothers, Charles Gray and wife Jody of Ardmore Oklahoma, Ray Gray of Wylie, Mike Gray and wife Brenda of Wylie, and Donald Gray and wife Cindy of Sachse.

At least until she had grandchildren, Sandy's greatest joy was her two children, Scott and Stacie. She raised them mostly in Wylie, Texas. She was known to work extra jobs just to provide for them and give them the life she felt they deserved. She worked as a Warehouse Technician for AMX for over 16 years after retiring from Rockwell International. At work, she was known to be a hard-worker and was very respected in her field.

Sandyconsidered herself incredibly blessed to live with her daughter Stacie and grandson Gavin during his younger years, and again when she was diagnosed with lymphoma for the first time in 2007. She was also thankful for the opportunity to live with Scott and his family for the lastfour years.

Family was the absolute most important thing to Sandy. Her greatest desire was for family to stay close and remain in contact. Family gatherings and holidays were some of her favorite times. She loved attending all of her grandsons' school events, eating dinner with them, listening to them sing, and simply just being with them. She loved being the best short-order cook around for her kids, their friends, and her grandkids. Her meals are remembered fondly by all, down to the omelet she made for one grandson the night before her passing.

Sandy was obviously a driven mother and grandmotherwith a love for Coca Cola with extra ice, Desperados tacos, and shopping. She loved to shop for other people and find great deals. When diagnosed with lymphoma, she remained dedicated in her work and in her will to fight her disease. She was the bravest, most iron-willed womanthroughout her entire life that we have ever known.

After numerous protracted battles, Sandy succumbed tothe disease on May 6, 2016 at the age of 67. She leaves behind her son, Scott Phillips and his wife Lori of Wylie, and her daughter, Stacie Phillips Ross and her husband Mark of Wylie. She is survived by her five precious grandsons and one granddaughter;Scott and Lori's boys are Gus, Barrett, Grayson, and Gage Phillips of Wylie and Mark and Stacie's children areGavin Shipmanand Brittany Ross also of Wylie. She is also survived bynumerous nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends. She ispreceded in death by her parents, herbrother Ray, father to her children William Leitus "Lee" Phillips, and nephews Donnie and Dean Gray.

Sandy was a Christian and would like for you to know that. She wasattending Invincible Church in Wylie, Texas where her son is executive pastor. She will be interred at the family plot in the Wylie Cemetery immediately following the service. The family would especially like to thank the staff of Texas Oncology at Medical City Dallas for their constant, attentive treatment.

We all love Sandy! She was truly the best daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother ever. We are thankful for our faith in Jesus Christ, the Supplier of our hope and peace that we will be reunited in Heaven.
