Sammie J Jobe, 87, passed away on May 19, 2014. Mr. Jobe was born on August 8, 1926 to parents Johnny Lilburn Jobe and Mary Catherine Jobe. He graduated from Delano High School in California in 1944 and enlisted into the U.S. Army on November 2, 1944. He served during World War II in the Italian campaign and was stationed in Leghorn, Italy. He received an honorable discharge from the army on November 26, 1945. He married Ruth Ford on September 2, 1946 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. They had two children; Linda Sue, born July 9, 1947 and Sammie Kay, born October 4, 1950. He retired after spending 30 years working for Collins Radio/Rockwell International.

Mr. Jobe had many hobbies and interests including building and flying airplanes, ham radio, and genealogy of the Jobe and Ford families. He loved playing the guitar and banjo and he was always active in the church.
He is survived by his two children Linda Sue Clark and Sammie Kay Frederick Jobe; seven grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and his brother Frankie Lilburn Jobe. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Jobe who passed away on February 14, 2000.
