Sally Havermann

Sally died on December 31, 2016 after a brief illness at the age of 82. She was a resident of McKinney at the time of her death. Sally was born on June 6, 1934 in Belleville, Illinois. Although she grew up in Belleville, she spent most of her adult life in the Chicago area where she was a loving mom and worked as an administrative assistant. Upon retirement, Sally and her husband Edward moved to Somerset, Kentucky, where they enjoyed a life of friends, boating and golf. After 11 years, they relocated to be closer to family in McKinney, Texas. Sally’s greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her friends and family. She had a contagious and enthusiastic sense of humor, loved being Grandma, enjoyed sports, game shows, travel, her beloved dog Wrigley, and a good game of marbles or Mexican train. She was genuinely warm and loving, while a little sassy and spunky – traits that drew her to everyone lucky enough to meet her. Sally was preceded in death by her husband Edward of 60 years in February 2016 whom she faithfully cared for through his nine-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She is survived by her daughter Lisa (John) Tokarz, son Edward III (Ann) Havermann and grandchildren Taylor and Jack Tokarz and Payton and Connor Havermann. She was a rock to her family and will be greatly missed. Family requests donations in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Services will be held at St. Jude's Catholic Church, Allen, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6th, 2017.
