Russell Shane Waddle was born January 28, 1974, to his parents, Russell Kirk Waddle and Laurie Denise Ellis. He found the love of his life, Gayle Huffman, when he was 16 and they remained together for 34 years. Through it all, their love for each other was timeless. Their marriage was a true picture of “for better or worse, in sickness and in health” and “love always." They had their son Cody in March 1994. Cody is the center of Shane’s heart. Shane’s love and affection for Cody was unmatched. He taught his son what it was to be man and take care of his family. Shane introduced his son to the art of fishing and hunting. They shared that passion for years. Cody now carries the torch and continues to make his father proud with his ability to provide. Shane, Gayle and Cody did everything together. They fished, hunted, explored nature, and made lifelong memories. Shane loved his animals like they were his own children. They always brought him comfort and peace. Shane was an alpha protector over his family.
Shane passed away unexpectedly and earned his heavenly wings, November 22, 2023. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Ballard & Mary Edra Ellis, grandfather Alvoy Waddle, father, Rusty Waddle, loving stepfather, Paul Hanson, Father in Law, Ron Huffman, nephew, Cecil “Trey” Lackey III, niece, Secily Edra Lackey, loving uncles Shelby Ellis, Carl Hanson, Gary Hanson, along with many other loving family members dear to his heart. In June 2021, Shane laid his old life at the foot of the cross and received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was born again into the family of God. From that day forward, Shane experienced the true joy and peace of Jesus. His heart became full and he found shelter with a band of brothers at Cornerstone Church. Shane began to minister to others and served the Lord God well by helping others in need. He will be dearly missed in the days, weeks, and years to come. However, we know, beyond a shadow of doubt, he is now peacefully resting with our family that has gone before us.
