Rudolph "Rudy" Nelson, age 82, a longtime resident of Quinlan, Texas, passed away May 16, 2014 in Greenville, Texas. He was born February 5, 1932 in Hatton, Arkansas to Henry William and Opal Lillian Towry Nelson.
Rudy grew up in Hatton and moved to Texarkana, Texas. He left Texarkana and moved to Dallas where he was very well known in the lath and plaster business for the last fifty years.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Alanda Gaye Nelson; granddaughter, Amanda Kaye Nelson; parents, Henry and Opal Nelson; and brother, Shirley Nelson.
Rudy is survived by his son, Ricky Nelson; daughter, Vickie Nelson; two grandchildren, Lauren Befeld and her husband, Robert and Shelby Nelson; three great-grandchildren, Blake Nelson, Luke Befeld and Rachel Befeld; brother, Billy Wayne Nelson and his wife, Janice; sister, Carol Pressley; the mother of his children, Marlene Nelson; and numerous other family members.
