It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Royce Gayle Keeling who left this earth on June 24, 2024, at the age of 82. Royce was born November 14, 1941, to Horace and Jeanette Keeling in Childress, Texas.
Royce married Louine Keeling on November 4, 1961. Royce worked in concrete construction for many years. In the early years of his career, he learned the concrete business and began his own business until his retirement. He possessed a very strong work ethic and took pride in working hard. He believed in doing a good job the right way.
Music was always a big part of Royce’s life. He learned to play the guitar at an early age. He had a band called the Bop Kings and played on an early TV show in Amarillo, Texas. He also played in a band with Mike Copeland and The Texas Express and many local Oprys. He sang old Rock and Roll and Country.
Racing was another love of his life. He built racing car engines and couldn’t wait to the weekend to get to the track to watch Victor race. He always had the car ready for race night.
Royce is survived by his wife Louine, his son Victor and wife Risa, grandson Derek, granddaughter Rebecca, his sister Carolyn and husband Joseph, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Royce was preceded in death by his father and mother, Horace and Jeanette.
