Rosa Loya Campos 92, of Garland Texas, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2014. She was born on November 17, 1921 in Cedar Creek, Texas. She grew up in Bastrop and later moved to Abilene.
Rosa married Francisco Campos in 1943 and moved to Abilene. Rosa was a resident of Abilene and a member of Templo Calvario until 1997 when she moved to Garland where she became a member of Iglesia Nuevo Nacimiento.
As a widow early in life, she solely raised seven children. Rosa was a devoted mother as well as a devoted Christian. Rosa was a strong prayer warrior and Rosa was a great inspiration to her family and church members. She loved the Lord our God with all her heart and she set an example of what a Godly person should be through her actions and prayers for others. She shared the Lord's love with everyone she encountered.
She is survived by her sons, Freddie Campos (Mary) of Abilene; Phillip Campos (Angie) of Garland; Jesse Campos of Lewisville; Daniel Campos of San Angelo; and daughters Linda Garcia (Leonard) of Sweetwater; Amelia Velasquez (Juan) of Garland. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and sister-in-law, Angela Perales of Abilene.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Juan and Francisca Loya, her husband; Francisco Campos, son; John Campos, daughter-in-law; Sarah Campos, and brothers; Natibida and Pedro Loya.
Viewing/Prayer service will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Charles W Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th Street, Sachse, Texas 75048.
Celebration of Life/Funeral will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM at First at Firewheel First Assembly of God, 5500 Lavon Drive, Garland, Texas 75040. Interment to follow in Sachse Cemetery, Sachse, Texas.
