Ronnie James Smith

Ronnie James Smith, 67, passed away on Friday April 20, 2018. He was born on April 10, 1951 in Oak Ridge, Tenn. To Loretta Jane and James William Smith. During his life he lived in Tennessee, Michigan and Texas. He was proudest of his sons and his service as a Marine. He also loved fishing, metal detecting, researching the Civil War and his family tree, coaching little league football and sharing those with others. He graduated from Lake Shores High School in 1970 and Texas Women’s University with a BS in nursing in 1982. It was a great joy to see his sons married and have grandchildren. His face lit up when holding the babies, and watching the older ones playing in the yard. He and his wife, Deborah, met in high school- and were friends until graduation. They married the following year and would have celebrated their 47th anniversary in May. He leaves loved ones, wife Deborah Ann Shelton Smith; sons James Eric (Janna) Smith; Shawn Patrick (Melody) Smith. Grandchildren; Matthew Bailey Thompson, Isabella Raine & Billy Wilson Winfield, Preston James & Madelyn Grace Smith. Sisters; Deborah & Robert Janiszewski, Cynthia Hartop, Deana & Charles Gerniski, multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, J.W. Smith, Jane and Doug Combs and his brother Terry Lee Smith. While flowers are greatly appreciated, donations may also be made to either the National Kidney Association or the American Diabetes Association.Services entrusted to Charles W.
