Ronnie Lynn Cates Sr, 62, of Blue Ridge, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015.
Ronnie was born to the late W.G. "John" Cates and Geneva Cates on December 21, 1952 in McKinney, Texas.
He married Connie Jo Zabonik on June 20, 1974.
Ronnie worked for North Texas Municipal Water District for 24 years. Prior to that he did road paving alongside his father.
Ronnie is survived by his wife- Connie Cates; His oldest son Cotton Cates and his wife, Krysta, and their children Jacob Cotton, Lucy, and Sam Beau; His youngest son B.J. Cates and his daughters Abby and Kelsie; and his daughter Kim Cates Murray and her husband Grant, and her daughters Shelbie Cates and Maddie Branch; His siblings Delores Harris, Bessie Thomas, Mary Cates, James Cates, Billy Ray Cates, and Charles Cates; and many nephews and nieces.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, W.G "John" Cates and Geneva Cates
Visitation Tuesday March 10, 2015, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in McKinney;
The Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 5:00 pm in McKinney at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 601 South Tennessee Street, McKinney.
