Ronnie Marvin Bays was born August 8, 1935 in Alexandria, Louisiana and passed away at home on March 24, 2020 in Garland, Texas after a courageous five-year battle with cancer.
Ronnie accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior on December 20, 1946 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Alexandria, Louisiana. Ronnie and his brother, Jerry, walked to church every Sunday. He grew up loving the Lord and later raised his family to follow Christ.
After graduating from Bolton High School, Ronnie met Blythe McClendon and they were married on July 4, 1957. Ronnie attended college at Southwestern Louisiana Institute and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Shortly after graduating from college Ronnie was drafted into the U.S. Army and served for two years in Korea. He helped draft plans for rebuilding the infrastructure of South Korea.
