Ronald (Ron) Wade Pruitt, 72, of Sachse, Texas, passed away on October 28, 2024, after a four year battle with cancer.
Ron was born on July 17, 1952, to Willard A. Pruitt and Euleta B. (Walters) Pruitt in Oklahoma City, Ok. After Ron graduated from Will Rogers High School, Tulsa, OK, in 1970, he began his career in the air conditioning business.
In 1969, Ron met Carolyn (Carol) Ellis in Tulsa, OK. Ron and Carol were married in 1974 and lived in Tulsa until relocating to the Sachse, TX area in 1986, where they made their home until his death. They celebrated their 50th anniversary on May 10, 2024. They went on to have two sons and one daughter-in-law, Allen W. Pruitt, his wife, Sylvia A. (Cruz) Pruitt and Eric N. Pruitt. They also have three grandchildren, Ryan W. Pruitt, Nathan W. Pruitt and Allyson M. Pruitt,
Ron was predeceased by his mother and father. He is survived by sisters, Faye Hill, Patsy Thomason and her husband, Ronny Thomason, Helen Featherston and her husband, Roy Featherston, and brother, Michael Pruitt and his wife, Annette Pruitt, and his many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Ron started his own company, All City Air Conditioning & Heating, Inc. in 1991, and was President/operator for over 30 years, retiring in 2021. His passion was hunting and fishing from a young age and he was able to enjoy that passion for many years up to and after retirement.
He loved all sports, becoming a little league baseball coach and Pee Wee football coach for many years while his sons were young. He was a huge Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars fan.
Services will be held at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, TX on November 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. with burial immediately after the services at The Sachse Cemetery, Sachse, TX.
