Rodolfo A. Rivas

December 13, 1989 — August 2, 2014

Rodolfo A. Rivas beloved son, brother, and uncle passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2014. He was born in Dallas, TX on December 13, 1989. Rodolfo fought stage four colon cancer for almost a year and a half. He was a strong individual who fought the entire way up until the very end. People were mesmerized by his strength and faith through such a difficult trial.

Rodolfo is survived by his parents Rodolfo L. Rivas and Rebecca A. Rivas, sisters Alexandria Rivas and Kimberly Reyna, brother Marcus Barrera, brother-in-law Phillip Reyna, sister-in-law Christy Barrera, and nephews Noah Reyna and Cole Barrera. Along with his immediate family he is survived by many more family members and friends who loved and adored him.

Rodolfo graduated from Wylie High School and received an Associate in Applied Science: Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology. He worked for Dallas Mechanical Group and loved the people he worked with and his job.

Rodolfo is also known by many as bean, boy, or Rudy was a very giving young man who was willing to do anything to help at any time. He was kind, funny, and had an infectious smile that would light up the room. He would always make everyone laugh with his jokes and shenanigans. He loved the outdoors, and spent any time he could hunting with family and friends. In his last days Rodolfo was able to complete a last wish by baptizing his nephew Noah Reyna and becoming his Godfather. Rodolfo always lived his life to the fullest, and he left with no regrets and at full peace.

Although it is hard to understand why a man at the young age of 24 would be taken away so quickly, we must lean on our faith to stay strong and move forward.

"Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time...no one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come." - Isaiah 57:1

Rodolfo will be greatly missed, but he will always be with us and in our hearts. A visitation will be held at the Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th Street in Sachse, TX on Monday August 4, 2014 from 12:00pm-5:00pm followed by a Rosary Service at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 404 N. Ballard Ave. in Wylie, TX from 6:00pm-8:00pm. A Christian Burial Service will be held on Tuesday August 5, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Anthony Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Wylie City Cemetery.
