Roddy Woodson, beloved husband, father, papa and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on February 6, 2025, with his devoted wife by his side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 79 years old.
Born on February 21st, 1945, in Henrietta, Oklahoma, Roddy was the first born to Neoma and Martin Woodson. He was a proud Vietnam veteran, having served his country with honor. After his time in the military, he dedicated over forty years to the lumber industry, where he built lasting relationships and was known for his great personality, wealth of knowledge, and natural ability to connect with others.
Roddy married the love of his life, Stephanie, and together they shared 56 beautiful years of marriage. He was a devoted and wonderful father to his daughter Reagan, and cherished father-in-law to Joshua Perry. His greatest joy came from being a grandfather (Papa) to Jacob and Lucas, with whom he loved to take on countless adventures.
Roddy was an avid golfer spending many joyful days on the course. He had an unmatched gift for storytelling and never met a stranger, making everyone feel like a lifelong friend.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Neoma Wilkerson; his father, Willie Wilkerson; his father Martin Woodson; his brother William Wilkerson; his sister, Darlene Taft; and his brother Ronald Wilkerson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie, his daughter Raegan Perry, and her husband Josh Perry; his grandsons, Jacob and Lucas Perry; his brothers Roy Woodson (Melinda), Marvin Wilkerson (Anne), Anthony Wilkerson (Linda) and sisters-in-law Boots Wilkerson and Linda H. Wilkerson and brother-in-law John Taft; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever hold him in their hearts.
