Robina (Biny) Sharpe was born at home in August, 1934 to Charles Homer James and Phebe Ann James (later Wilson) in Brushy Knob, Missouri near Ava. After graduating from Oaks High School in Oaks, Oklahoma, she attended Hillcrest Medical Center School of Nursing in Tulsa where she received her RN. She and John Sharpe married on August 2nd, 1958 in Tulsa. After John completed his degree, they relocated to Texas and finally settled in Fairview. Biny worked as a pediatric nurse and later as a realtor. She was a long time member of the Richardson Reviewers and the 2nd Tuesday bridge club in Allen. She served on the Fairview Planning and Zoning Committee and worked the local elections. Biny loved to travel with John in their RV. Their travels took them as far as Alaska and Nova Scotia, and to many points in the U.S. and they participated in many Red River Rover rallies. Biny also loved reading, gardening, Texas Rangers baseball, feeding the birds and squirrels and any other wild animals that ventured close to the house. Biny is survived by her husband, John, her children Linda McDonald and John Sharpe IV, and his wife Jody, her two granddaughters, Rachel McDonald and Julie Sharpe, as well as by her sisters Alice Brannen and Esther B'uzard. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Homer James, James Robert and Phebe Wilson, and her brother, James Robert Wilson, Jr. Her funeral will take place on Saturday, August 12th at 10 a.m. at the Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home at 601 S. Tennessee St. in McKinney. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary at 1 Nature Place, McKinney, TX 75069 or online at heardmuseum.org.
