Robin Dawn McCurdy, 36, passed away at her parent's Wylie, TX home on February 14, 2014 after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loving family and friends.
Robin was born in Dallas, Texas to Richard and Ronda (Parker) Odell on October 6, 1977. She graduated from North Mesquite High School in 1996 and went on to receive her certification in Drafting & Design / Auto Cad Operator from Texas State Technical College. Robin enjoyed cooking, reading, needle point, crocheting, video games and texting with her many friends in the deaf community.
She is survived by her husband of 7 years, Lawrence McCurdy of Rowlett, TX; parents, Richard and Ronda Odell of Wylie, TX; brother, Ryan Odell, his wife Vanessa, and their daughter Scarlette of Wylie TX; mother and father-in-law, Randy and Angelita McCurdy of Rowlett, TX; brother-in-law, Randy McCurdy, Jr., his wife Jessica and their children, Randy III, Katie and Allison of Rowlett, TX. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, JC & Dorothy Parker and Weldon & Nelda Odell.
Robin had many life-long friends and teachers from the Regional Day School for the Deaf in Mesquite, Texas and was a member of Parkside Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas.
