Roberto Lozano Acevedo

September 2, 1944 — November 26, 2013

Roberto Lozano Acevedo son to Jose Acevedo and Tereza Lozano Acevedo both of Freer, Texas.

He grew up in the small town of Freer, Texas just south of San Antonio until joining the United States Army from 1966-1969 serving proudly in the Vietnam War.

On January 9, 1969 Roberto married his long time sweetheart Minerva Sanchez Perez relocating to Garland Texas. Together they raised 4 children: Edmond, Robert Jr, Becky, and Orlando.

He is preceded in death by both parents, (wife) Minerva, (son) Robert Jr, (grandson) Justin.

He is survived by his children: Edmond of Garland, Becky (& Husband Tony) of Garland, Orlando (& Wife Jennifer) of Garland. Grandchildren: Brittany, Edmond JR., Ashley, LeAnna, Alex, Nicholas and Fabian. Great-grandchildren Aurelio, Israel, Cailyn and Baby Doyle (his pet Doberman of 4 yrs). Roberto worked in Construction for many years, dabbing in all areas from Auto-mechanics, Carpentry, Plumbing then to Painting and eventually retiring in 2003 to his long time favorite past time of playing bingo.

He's well known at the local bingo parlors as the one that arrived 2 hours early to "Make the Coffee". If you had the honor to meet Roberto you would find he had many stories, tall tales, off-the-wall humor and a silly "grandpa".

Message from daughter Becky:
Poppy you were never the one to say that you loved us but the actions you showed was more then one can ask for. I love you so much and just wanted you to be free of any illness, pain or hurt. I know your resting now and will be watching over us. I will miss the times we traveled to bingo, to see Grandma in Freer, and the days you would come watch Cowboy's games with us. Please give Mommy, Bebe and Justin a hug and kiss from all of us. Knowing you're with them will help my heart heal. You are my hero and I love you!
