Roberta Lou Rose

Roberta Lou Rose, long time resident of McKinney, passed away June 9th after a long battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. Roberta was a registered nurse and served as a Captain in the US Army. She also worked at the hospital in McKinney for a number of years. Born in October 1939 in Austin, TX, she is survived by daughter Amy Rose, son Dale Rose and family both in the Austin area and Oklahoma. Preceded in death by her husband Larrie Lamar Rose, Roberta was a beloved mother and friend. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, McKinney, TX. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Wilson Chapel Cemetery, Lowry Crossing, Texas. Directions to cemetery: from int. 75 north go right 380 east and go right on Bridgefarmer Road. Go down to Lowry Crossing and the cemetery will be on the left before you get to F.M. 546.
