Robert J. Yehnert
January 30, 1929 " February 18, 2012
Born in Akron, OH to Hilda and Robert H. Yehert , Bob joined the United States Army and served as a member of the Honor Guard for General Douglas MacArthur in Tokyo, Japan. Upon returning from the service and starting a family, Bob moved to Illinois to pursue a degree in education at North Central College where he graduated in 1960.
After several years as a classroom teacher, Bob entered the business world and developed a real estate brokerage. As a very well respected member of the community, he eventually became the Mayor of North Aurora, IL.
Bob moved to Texas in 1975 where he continued his career in the home building business. He met and married the love of his life, Linda, in 1988. He retired from the business world in 1990.
Bob spent his retirement years enjoying his love of family, friends, travel and the occasional poker game.
Bob will be remembered for his wit, sense of humor and steadfast loyalty to his family and friends.
Bob is survived by:
Wife " Linda Yehnert
Daughter " Debra (Ron) White and their children, Tim and Christy
Son " Robert L. (Joy) Yehnert and their children Jennifer, Erica and Jessica
Step-daughter " Laura (Mike) Morgan and children Leah, Lindsey, Lacy and John Paul
Step-son " B. Drew Wallace
And 4 very special great " grandchildren: Madison, Molly, Roscoe and Eleanor
A Memorial Service will be held at Eastgate Funeral Home on February 23, 2012 at 2:00 pm. The family cordially invites the guests to a reception following the service.
