Robert "Wayland" Bryson, age 83 died on Tuesday, April 2nd in McKinney, TX. He had been living in the McKinney Healthcare & Rehabilitation for over 2 years. They were a loving and caring community to him and his wife Sue during his time with them.
Wayland as he was known to his family and friends was born 10-24-1935 in Prescott, AR. Wayland was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and 1 brother. Wayland retired from Conagra Foods in 1996 after a long distinguished career in sales.
Wayland was survived by his high school sweetheart Sue Bryson, they were happily and lovingly married for over 63 years. Wayland and Sue had 1 son, Mickey Bryson. He and his wife Jennifer Bryson live in Plano, TX. Mickey's two daughters Amy Spencer of Fate, TX, Megan Maenius and her husband Ross Maenius of The Colony, TX and son Chance Bryson of Plano, TX.
Wayland was an avid golfer and gardener. He and Sue traveled all around the South and even further with other couples playing golf together. His love for gardening fed their neighbors and friends.
The most important things to Wayland were God and his family. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Benton, AR for over 30 years. Wayland loved watching his son play baseball as he was growing up and later in life as he officiated SEC college football.
