Robert Dale Stevens

Age 73, passed from this life June 13, 2011 at his home in Wylie, Texas. Bob was born August 12, 1937 in Vici, Oklahoma to parents, Merle Dale and Vivian Irene (Denton) Stevens.


Bob was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lucas, Texas, where he served in prison ministry and ministry to the homeless.


Bob worked full time for over 50 years. For 12 years he worked for Gibsons. For most of his life he was self employed as a garden nurseryman in the Dallas area. In his spare time he enjoyed watching sports.


Bob is survived by his wife of 21 years, Patricia (Hoffman) Stevens, daughter Teresa Steele and husband Rickey, sons Kenneth Stevens and his wife Pam, Ricky Stevens and wife Jane and Robbie Stevens, step daughter Kristi Page, stepsons Dale and Bill Anderson, six grandchildren, five step grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and three half sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents and step mother Cleta Stevens.

VISITATION will be Wednesday, June 15, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 2925 Fifth Street in Sachse, Texas, 972-414-5050.


FUNERAL SERVICE will take place on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Robinwood Baptist Church, 106 Fisk Street in Seagoville, Texas with Reverend Jim Everidge officiating.

Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Seagoville, Texas. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given for Cornerstone Baptist Church.
