Robert L. Shaw

Robert ("Bob") L. Shaw of Sachse passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Bob was born in Topeka, KS on September 26, 1939 and was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth S. Shaw and Marjorie L. Butterfield.
Bob began his sales and marketing career in Houston, TX with Kraft Foods and then moved to Dallas, TX with Campbell-Taggert/Merico and subsequently was with Kinepak Division of Atlas Powder Company. He especially enjoyed his later career where he excelled as a manufacturer's representative for various safety products until his retirement in 2010.
He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dixie Howell Shaw; his sister, Janice Chandler and her husband Carl of Matthews, NC; his daughter, Shannon Wade and her husband Steve of Wylie, TX; his son, Mark Shaw and his wife Cathie of Garland, TX; his granddaughters, Rachel Bliss and her husband Rick of Chapel Hill, NC; Andrea Nelson of Dallas, TX; and Courtney and Rebecca Shaw of Garland, TX.
Other survivors include three step-granddaughters, Courtney Edwards, her husband Reggie and their daughter Callie; Chelsea Wade; and Kacie Hickman and her husband Josh; sister-in-laws Janet Melton; Regina Howell; and Eileen Howell and her husband Ferris McElreath; brother-in-law Dennis Howell; and nieces and nephews and extended family members; Laura, Al and Ryan Merchant.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM on October 23, 2014 at the Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home located at 2925 5th Street in Sachse, Texas, 75048. Chaplin Steve Leatherwood will be officiating.
