Robert Michnick of Princeton, TX, age 69, passed away on August 25, 2024, after a long illness. Robert was born in New York, New York on March 10, 1955, to Howard Michnick and Sandra Popiel.
Robert loved life and loved helping others. His calling to law enforcement resulted in police officer careers in Southern California, Washington State and most recently in Princeton, TX. As a first responder, Robert earned many accolades including a life-saving award. He retired after 21 years with the rank of Lieutenant. He continued his passion for law enforcement by joining WatchGuard and Motorola Solutions where he worked as a sales engineer, assisting police agencies across the country with their body worn cameras and dash cams. He loved his job and worked up until the day he passed away.
Robert was self-taught in all things I.T. He developed one of the most popular computer bulletin board systems in the country called Prostar Plus. His abilities did not go unnoticed, with Microsoft asking Robert to join the founding development team for MSN. Before the internet was introduced to the world, Robert assisted in the development of bulletin board software that included email, text messaging, online games, forums and more.
Besides his love for family, Robert loved muscle cars, home automation, Star Trek, and BASEBALL. He played minor league ball for the New York Yankees and was an avid Seattle Mariners fan.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Father Howard Michnick, Mother Sandra Olshan and Stepfather Arnold Olshan. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Deborah Michnick, sons Aaron, Stuart and Samuel Michnick, daughters-in-law Amber and Daisy Michnick, grandchildren Aria, Alana, Paxton and Brixton Michnick, brother Mark Michnick, sisters Karen Bauer, Kim Keenum and Margie Sincavage and brothers-in-law Bob Bauer, Charles Keenum and Bill Sincavage.
