Robert LeRoy Hankinson

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Bob Hankinson, at the age of 82 found his promised rest in the presence of Jesus on December 17th, 2014.
Robert Leroy Hankinson was born August 12, 1932 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Bob graduated from Oklahoma University and entered military service in 1954 where he served in the Army Artillery based at Fort Sill. He rose to the rank of First Lieutenant and served as assistant executive officer until his honorable discharge in 1956. He was a lifelong "oil man" beginning in the late 1950's serving as an oil scout for Sunray Oil. Bob traveled the 2 lane roads of rural Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas purchasing thousands of oil and gas leases over many decades for a variety of companies. He authored the reference book, "Landman's Encyclopedia." Bob's greatest achievement was his service to his Savior. Our heavenly Father chose to use him as a special vehicle to reveal Himself to literally everyone to whom he came in contact. His life was a living sacrifice to others such as in arranging and transporting food to Mexican children living on the border in a cardboard town lovingly known as "The Dump." He greeted everyone with his trademark smile that was genuine without guile, and captivating. He would look for the unloved, the overlooked, the unlovely, and the lonely in a crowd to engage in conversation. Every person Bob came into contact with loved him. He would look a perfect stranger in the eyes and ask "Do you love Jesus?"
Bob struggle with the affects o Parkinson's Disease in the last years of his life.
His wife Susie was the love of his life and provided her unrelenting love and care
to the end. Bob is survived by his devoted wife Susie Hankinson , her two sons Joshua Hogue and Jeremy Hogue - her grandchildren, MacKayla, Kambrie, and Destiny Hogue. Bob's three children -Rob Hankinson, Gretchen Smith, and Lynn Davis -his six grandchildren, Jenny Hankinson Smiley, Ashley Smith Briscoe, Katie Hankinson Schell, Michael Smith, Richard Davis, and Hardy Davis; and one great grandson Keegan Briscoe.
