Robert "Bob" was born on March 1, 1929, in Bay City, Michigan to Paul and Gladys Bonnell. At the age of 94, Bob went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 4, 2024. In October 2021, he was predeceased by Eleanor (Luczak), his loving wife of 75 years.

Bob lived and worked in Bay City, MI for most of his life before moving to Wagoner, OK and then to Camden, AR, where he retired in 1994. In 1995, he and his wife moved to Allen, TX. Both Bob and Eleanor were members and active in ministry of the Evangelical Free Churches wherever they lived.

His favorite passtimes were his love of artistic painting and relaxing while fishing, but you could always find him tinkering around the house.

He is also survived by his two daughters: Ellen (Dave) DeWitt of Spring Lake, MI and Cynthia (Harold) Gustafson of Allen, TX; 5 grandchildren: Becky (Chuck) May of Spring Lake, MI, Debbie (Jon) DeLine of Greensboro, NC, Sarah (Jeremy) Currie of Ravenna, MI, Ben (Jamie) Gustafson of Celina, TX and Bonnie (Rick) Phillips of Lowry Crossing, TX; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother Bill (Doris) Bonnell of Woodstock, IL. He is predeceased by his brother Bruce (Pearl) Bonnell and sisters Betty (Bill) Lichty, Barbara (Cliff) Boomer and Beryl (Jerry) Anderson.

A private family memorial service was held at Charles W. Smith & Sons Chapel, McKinney, TX, with Pastor Blair Abbott of Grace EFC officiating. Interment was held at Fitzhugh Cemetery, Lucas, TX, where he was laid to rest next to his wife.
