Robert C. "Bob" Baker, age 68, of Sachse died June 17 in Garland with his family at his side. Bob was born April 11, 1943 in Henderson, Texas.
Bob is survived by his wife Sandy of 42 years, son Frank Baker & wife Cindy, daughter Sarah Baker Sawai & husband Kyle, four grandchildren Luke, Ty David, Kai & Kate, sister Sandy Gryder Chapman, nephew David Baker Blakely, niece Angela Baker Raschke, mother-in-law Creta Thomas, sister & brother-in-law Franny & Monty Gage, niece Amanda Gage & nephew Reagan Gage.
Bob was a teacher at South Garland High School and served as an educator for Garland ISD for 29 years. Bob was a football coach in Forney, Mesquite and Raymondville. He was a referee for SWC, NFL, WAC, DFOA and DBOA. He also coached his daughter's competitive club softball teams.
Bob & Sandy were charter members of First United Methodist Church in Sachse. They owned Baker Antiques, Armadillo River & Trail Outfitters, Baker’s Smokehouse BBQ and Baker’s Tree Service.
Visitation will be 6"8pm on Tuesday, June 21 at Sachse First United Methodist where the Memorial Service will be at 10:30am on Wednesday, June 22 with Rev. Anna Hosemann-Butler officiating. Memorials are requested for Heritage Garden at Sachse Methodist.
