Rita Marie Davis (Jones) was born November 16, 1957, to Charles and Bernice Jones. She is remembered as a happy baby. Even as a child those that met her immediately fell in love with her.
Soon after graduating from Mesquite High School, she married James Davis (“JD”). They were married for 48 years and had four wonderful children. Perhaps one of her main goals was to be a loving and understanding mother. She succeeded.
She and her beloved husband, JD, worked in tandem in the catering business. They were very successful in a difficult career. Rita seldom complained and had an optimistic view of the future.
She had wide interests and was very creative. She volunteered at Ronald McDonald House. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, entertaining family, doting on her grandchildren, and most recently raising bees. She was the queen of empathy and was kind to everyone.
Simply put, family was everything to Rita.
To quote Steven Spielberg: “People have forgotten how to tell a story. Stories don’t have a beginning, a middle, and an end. They have a beginning that never stops beginning.” This was Rita’s life.
Rita is survived by: her husband Jim; her brother Charlie and his wife Paula; her children Jim and his wife Shanna; Nick and his wife Maria; Scott and his wife Brittany; and Colin and his wife Caroline. Grandchildren Michelle, Nicky, Sydney, Warren, and Amelia. Her nephew Evan.
