Ricky Lee Smith, otherwise known as "The Rocket" of Sachse, Texas, took his trip to Gods Country on Thursday, November 11th, 2021, with loved ones by his side. He was born on November 17th, 1960 in Dallas, TX to parents Alice Mae Neff Smith and the late Billy Ray Smith. Rick attended Garland High School and grew up in Sachse, TX. Rick married his High School Sweetheart Kellie Lynn Daniel November 1978, whose union brought two children, Angie Nicole Smith and Josh Lee Smith. His list of loves included Softball, Building Things…He Could Build anything and took Pride in his Work, Hunting, Grilling/Smoking Meals, Monthly Poker Nights with his Kids and Close Family Friends, Camping Trips, Playing Golden Tee, Listening to Country Music on his Ryobi Radio, Weekends at his Land in Blossom, TX with his Son and Spending Time with Family & Friends. He was a Builder/General Contractor for over 40 years. From his involvement in the Church at Park Lake Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church as Youth Pastor, to volunteer service with Kids BB Gun Stand at the State Fair, Ricky kept himself involved in a variety of ways. Those who knew him would likely remember Ricky as the Jokester with an Abundance of Humor in the room, but also had a Huge Heart and a Softy at the right time…especially when it came to his Mother and Daughter. Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Billy Ray Smith, Grandmother, Lucille Smith, and Granddaughter, Chandler Mae Smith. He is survived by his Daughter, Angie Nicole Smith, of Sanger, TX; son Josh Lee Smith of Celina, Texas, and wife Chrissy Smith; Grandson Parker James Przybylski; Granddaughters Brooklyn Nicole Przybylski & Avery Grace Smith; Sister Pamela Sue Smith; Brothers Gary Wayne Smith and Michael Patrick Smith, as well as a host of Nieces, Aunts and Cousins. The family wishes to express sincerest thanks to the wonderful Relatives and Friends who have extended their support along the way. Though we grieve at his succumbing to complications from Heart Ablation, we stand on the firm belief that Ricky is now healed and whole in the arms of the Father.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 20th @ 2:00 PM at First Sachse Church.
