Dale Richard Thomas, age 68, born in Dardanelle, Arkansas, on December, 12, 1944, passed away on August 25, 2013 from injuries sustained in a fatal car accident while in route to church.
He was an active member of East Fork Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas and a longtime member of the Gideon International Organization. He was a retired cabinet maker. He was a self-taught musician on the piano, guitar and harmonica and loved to sing and play with family and church.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Powell and Ivie Thomas; as well as, Basil Clayton and wife Marlene Thomas, Carl Leonard Thomas, James R. "Slim" Barnett and James Lewis.
He is survived by daughter, Lynell Smith and her husband Troy of Wills Point, Texas; son, Jason Thomas and his wife, Mindy of Little Elm, Texas; two sisters, Jo Lewis of Bryant, Arkansas and Mary Barnett of Dallas, Texas; 22 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
