Richard Lee Siebert

Richard Siebert, 76, of Garland, Texas, died on April 9, 2017. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on September 1, 1940, the son of Leo and Berniece Siebert. He graduated from Waverly Rural High School and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Navy. He served his country for 4 years, including service during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and received an Honorable Discharge. He also worked for 3M Co. for 25 years. He enjoyed woodworking, football, baseball, and all sports, He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Anita Blais Siebert, and his beautiful daughter Sheila, both of Garland, Texas. He is also survived by his brother Vern Siebert of Irving, Texas; his brother Anthony Siebert of Manhattan, Kansas; his sister Anita Reed of Justin, Texas; his sister Sally Gembala of South Padre Island, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Richard will lie in state at the Eastgate Funeral Home. There will be a visitation at Eastgate on Wednesday, April 12, from 6-8 PM, with a Rosary at 7 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at Eastgate on Thursday, April 13 at 10 AM and the Burial will be held on Friday, April 14 at 9:30 AM at DFW National Cemetery. The family asks that contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
