Richard Lee Roberts

Richard “Dick” Lee Roberts, of Mansfield, Texas passed away peacefully on May 4, 2023 at the age of 75. He was born on June 26, 1947 to Myron Calvin and Bonnie Lou Roberts in Enid, Oklahoma. Dick was a dedicated husband and a wonderful father to his three daughters.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents , his second mother, three brothers and two sisters. Dick is survived by Ella Louise, his high school sweetheart and wife of 57 years; his children: Kristi, Karen and  her husband Duaine, and Kathryn; his grandchildren: Andrew, Gerard, Jr., and Kynnedi; his great grandchildren: Kayden and Karson; one brother, and one sister.

For 48 years he worked either full or part time in the Bearings business in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. In 1978 soon after traveling to Australia on a church mission trip, he moved his family to Texas so he could attend the Criswell Center for Biblical Studies in Dallas. He became an ordained minister and preached for a few years at a Baptist church in Edgewood, Texas. Dick’s passion for woodworking, became a much beloved hobby. His uncle, Joe Turner, took the time to teach Dick all he knew about woodworking, and he crafted many beloved keepsakes for his family.

Dick’s legacy of kindness for everyone and love for his family will live on in our memories.

The viewing will be on May 7, 2023 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 660 E. Princeton Dr., Princeton , Texas 75407 from 6:00  – 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 1306 N. Sixth St., Princeton, Texas 75407 on May 8, 2023 at 11:00 am. All family and friends are welcome. A meal will be provided at the church following the service.
