He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Edwin; and one sister, Gloria.
Richard is survived by his wife, Betty Evelyn Carnaghan; two daughters, Lydia Ruth Gowens and her husband, Jim and Patricia Deloras Kreider and her husband, David; six grandchildren, Jacquelin DeNece Villerreal and her husband, Cruz, Sr., Jimmy Rex Gowens, Jr. and his wife, Paula, Melissa Ann Gowens and her partner, Lori Berkelay, Owen Dale McKinney and his wife, Bonnie, Joshua Eugene Kreider, and Phillip Andrew Kreider and his girlfriend, Sabrina Frick; sixteen great-grandchildren, Austin Cortez, Mason Cortez, Dom Villarreal, Cruz Villarreal, Jr., Alexus Gowens, Josh Gowens, Chris Gowens, Aiden Gowens, Levi Gowens, Londyn Gowens, Amelia Kreider, Rylie McKinney, Elli McKinney, Katie McKinney, Jonathon McKinney, and Eli Compton; brother, Robert and his wife, Fran; and four sisters, Pat and her husband, George, Eilean and her husband, Ralph, Gwen, and Elizabeth.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
