Richard (Dick) E. Brown left this earth on October 6, 2013. He was born in Opportunity, Washington on April 6, 1947. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Hugh Brown and his mother, Hazel Nancy Brown. He was married to Claudia B. Brown for 20 years. He had a son, Kevin Scott Brown, a daughter-in-law, Kristi Brown and a grandson, Corbin James Brown. He also had a stepdaughter, Abigail Case Lang and son-in-law, Dylan Lang. Dick served in Vietnam in 1968. He was employed for many years with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. He was a man known for his patience, honesty, integrity, and never ending sense of humor. He had unconditional love for his family and friends. Dick never failed to make his wife laugh at least two to three times a day. Dick was a great listener and lead by example. He had a love for homeless animals and supported many shelters. Dick and his wife adopted a cat and countless dogs into their loving family. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and antique car collector. While in Vietnam, he was exposed to Agent Orange, and as a result, developed and died from Multiple Myeloma. He never complained and held no bitterness or anger in his heart. His love, his attitude towards life, and his sense of humor were the greatest gifts that he left to his wife to help her in her mourning of his death. In lieu of flowers it would be appreciated if donations were made to The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. The memorial will be on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 601 S. Tennessee Street, McKinney, Texas 75069.
