Richard Paul Borth

Richard (Dick) Paul Borth, of Garland, Texas, passed away on January 12, 2018 at the age of 75. He was born to Anthony Borth and Elva Witting on October 30, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois.Dick served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garland and worked in Sales, specializing in hydrolic equipment.Dick is survived by his wife, Barbara Borth; his son, Daniel Eric Borth and wife, Margaret; his daughter, Jennifer Marie Borth Hernandez and husband, Jorge Jr.; grandchildren, Hardison Daniel Borth, Hatch Lyles Borth, Titus Sergio Hernandez, and Tatum Marie Hernandez; and his brother, Michael Borth.Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Charles W. Smith and Sons funeral home chapel in Sachse, Texas. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 22, 2018 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Garland in Garland, Texas. Internment will immediately follow at the Dallas-Forth Worth National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.The family request that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Friendship House or the ESL Ministry.
