BENZINE, Richard Allen- Passed with peace and grace on June 29, 2019, with his family at his side. Richard was dearly loved by his devoted family. Sister Phylis Ehlers of Waterloo, Iowa, son Larry (Sandy) of Antlers, Oklahoma, daughter Lori (Barry) Parks of Princeton, Texas, and son-in-law (George) McMullen of West, Texas; grandchildren: Mae Ann Hefner, Angie (Troy) Griffin, Heith (Ellen) Benzine, Aaron (Misty) Benzine, Audie (Kevin) Hartman, and Allyson Parks; great grandchildren:Christen, Paige, Zoe, Gentry, Ryder, Avery, Kale, Troupe, Paxton, Bradi, Brantley, Knight and Brooklyn; numerous siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, plus many loyal and caring friends. His loving wife Laura and daughter Lou Ann McMullen preceded him.
Richard was born in Fairbank, Iowa, he met and married Laura in Waverly, Iowa, while self employed. He and Laura retired in Princeton, Texas. In addition to their many travels, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and he loved to play golf. He also spent many summer days working in his garden. He has never met a stranger and always loved to socialize, whether it was with the mailman to the guy filling up his tank at the gas station, somehow he always had the gift of making a new friend no matter where he went. He will be always remembered as a loving husband, devoted brother, caring father, and definitely a playful grandfather.
A service will be held at the Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 601 S. Tennesse Street, McKinney, Texas on July 13th, at 4pm.
