Rev. A. W. Douglas King

January 16, 1948 — June 8, 2024

McKinney, TX

A.W. Douglas King was born on January 16, 1946, on the family farm in Poplar Grove, Saskatchewan. He entered heaven’s eternal celebration on June 8, 2024, in McKinney, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Doug attended Miracle Valley Bible College in Arizona where he met a charming, cute little blonde named Barbara Raymer from Bradley, South Dakota. On the first day he saw her, God whispered to him that she would be his wife. Soon after, they were married on April 9, 1966, and set off on a lifelong adventure of serving the Lord, ministering to people, and trusting in God to take care of all their needs. Throughout their entire marriage, they were on fire for God, always willing to go where God led them and where they were needed, with faith that His purpose was being fulfilled through them. Doug is survived by his cherished wife of 58 years, Barbara; his three children, Michele (Brad), Monty (Jennifer), and Melissa (Tyler); 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his remaining siblings, June, Bud, Margaret, Grace, and Gwen; and many dear friends and relatives. Doug served as a pastor for more than 43 years at various churches, with his final ministry being at Living Water Worship Center Foursquare Church in Salina, Kansas, where he served faithfully for over 26 years. He enjoyed helping people, studying God’s Word, singing, playing his guitar, playing games, traveling, cars, laughing, and having a good time with family & friends. He devoted his entire life to the will and purpose of God, loving his family, and serving those in need. Doug’s legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him and his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones - a true testament to his life of heartfelt ministry, spiritual leadership, and joyful faith in God. He now rejoices in the eternal celebration of heaven in the presence of our mighty King, having faithfully completed his earthly journey.
