Rebecca Naomi Thill

September 23, 1956 — September 13, 2023

Richardson

Rebecca "Becky" Thill, (nee Wynn), 66, of Richardson Texas, passed away on Wednesday September 13, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born to Richard & Shirley Wynn on September 23, 1956 in Lawton, OK.  Becky grew up all over the world due to her father Richard's service in the U.S. Army. Becky graduated from Lawton Eisenhower High School in 1974.

Becky met Jerry, the love of her life, in February 1988 at Cowdaddy's Country Western Club in Oklahoma City. Their first dance was a waltz, and when she came off the dance floor she told her best friend Kim "I'm going to marry that guy!" and two months later they were wed on April 15, 1988. This waltz led to 35 years of marriage that took Becky and Jerry from Oklahoma, to Wisconsin, and finally Texas. Their love created a blended family of 5, with two daughters and one son, with the later addition of three grandchildren.

Becky's family was her passion, regardless if you were an immediate family member or 4 times removed to the 17th degree. Her love of history and family became the driving force in her being a nationally recognized genealogist. She founded the Wynn Genealogy Society with family members all over the world. Becky organized and hosted the annual Wynn Genealogy Society research meeting.  Researching family history and going back centuries was her passion. She demanded verifiable facts and not passed down family folklore. She also co-authored the book, "Dr. Thomas Wynne's Legacy" which details the family's history back to the early 1600's.

If you were a friend of Becky's, she genuinely cared and loved you.  It didn't matter if she had known you for years or met you online regarding genealogy or in one of her quilting groups. She loved to share her knowledge, regardless of the subject and help with whatever conundrum you were facing.

Becky was a talented and creative genius. Her handiwork, whether it was a quilt, a knitted blanket, a crocheted doily, an embroidered pillow, clothes for her family and friends or on a porcelain doll that she poured, fired and painted. Her works were always exquisite and treasured.  Her talents were endless.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; son Michael Gaydos III (Emily); daughters Barbara Thill-Gipson (Victor); Jennifer Thill; 3 grandchildren; Grant, Hazel Rose and Kathryn Naomi; sister Shelia Glass (Gene); brother Rick Wynn (Susan);  her best friend Kim Walton; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Becky was preceded in death by her parents, aunts and uncles.
