Raymond Dan Byrd

Raymond Dan Byrd of Rowlett Texas, went peacefully to Heaven with his Lord Jesus on Monday, May 4, 2020. Raymond's life began on May 11,1927 when he was born to John Wesley and Jesse Milam Byrd in Memphis, Tennessee.

Raymond and his three brothers grew up on Dovecrest Road in a house that each member of the immediate family worked to build together. Raymond came to know Christ at an early age and grew up a member of Whitten Memorial Baptist Church in Memphis, a church that his parents were instrumental in building. Raymond graduated from high school in 1945 and immediately enlisted in service to his country. He attained the rank of Sergeant in the Air Force and was stationed on Johnston Island in the Pacific during WW II.

Raymond met the love of his life, Doris Ann Steele, and married her on March 15, 1952. They were married for 67 years. Their precious legacy includes three beautiful children, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his Mother, Father, and brothers Charles, Clyde, and William, along with his loving wife Doris Ann Steele Byrd.
