Ramona Ruth Mathis

September 3, 1934 — May 17, 2015

Ramona "Mona" Ruth Mathis, age 80, peacefully slipped away from us on May 17, 2015. We
know that she is enjoying a joyous homecoming with the Lord she loved so much. Also there,
waiting to take her in their arms, were her parents, J. Herman & Olga Mills, her brother, Albert
Mills, her sisters, Eva Mills and Kathy Homan and her beloved daughter, Toni McBride.

Left here to celebrate her life is her sister, Esther Milner, her daughter and son-in-law, Terri &
Daniel Krieter, daughters, Melonie Juby and Monya Powell; grandchildren, Taryn Walker and
her husband John, Nicholaus Krieter, Morgan Krieter, Cade McBride, Nicole Whittington,
Heather Rose and husband Jon, Randi Ross, Michelle and Chaz Juby, Mason and Ryan Powell;
great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Trinity Whittington, and Will Rose; and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Dallas, Texas, on September 3, 1934, Mona lived her life as a wife, mother and
homemaker, secretary, saleswoman and hotel night auditor. Known as Nanny to her own grandchildren, later in life Mona transitioned the idea into her most rewarding career as a "Nanny" to two special families. Bernadette Fiaschetti and daughters, Vinnie and Nia, along with Joseph and Michelle Quinn and their children, Clay, Jill and Josh, were quickly welcomed into the family, becoming children and grandchildren of her heart.

Mona was feisty and you always knew where you stood. You didn't have to take her advice, but
she wanted you to hear it. She loved people and was always "ready to go" no matter where you
were going. She could talk to anyone and was always making friends at the store check-out lane.
She loved any shade of pink and was famous for her gold "ballerina slippers" and "house
dresses" (moo-moo's), and always had on a ring on her finger with the biggest stone she could
find. She loved to play Bingo, Bunko & Skip-Bo, and collected Beanie Babies until they filled
the house. She loved Dr. Peppers "in a can", Donut Sticks, milk chocolate and dinner at Texas
Roadhouse. Most of all, Mona truly loved and took great joy in her family & friends.

Stories will be told for generations about all the kind, quirky, in your face, fun loving, drive-you- crazy antics of a short little lady named Mona. She will be missed, but we who loved her take
comfort in knowing that she's celebrating today in the presence of her Lord, floating on her
personal pink cloud, wearing a day dress with all her "blink" and gold ballerina slippers.

Celebration Services will be held on Sunday, May 31, at 2:00 p.m., at Charles Smith & Sons
Funeral Home, 2925 Fifth Street, Sachse, Texas, 75048. Family and friends are welcome to visit
prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Please wear something pink in celebration of her life
and feel free to make donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
