Mr. Rafiq Alam Gill was born on June 15, 1958, in Hatcher, Sheikhupura, Pakistan to Mr. Rehmat Gehna Mall and Sharifa Bibi. Rafiq had four brothers and three sisters, and he was the youngest of all his brothers.
He completed his early education at CMS High School Narowal and his FA from Forman Christian College in Lahore and furthered his education at Hailey College of Commerce, the University of Punjab in Lahore where he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting.
On September 23, 1988, Rafiq married the love of his life, Rifat Bashir and they were blessed with three daughters and one son: Komal, Kanwal, Zara, and Rohail. God blessed him with five beautiful grandchildren Anaya and Aiden John, Micah Masih, Jeremiah, and Josiah Younis.
Rafiq worked at the United Christian Hospital Accounting Department from 1990 to 2004 and then spent the rest of his time in Lahore at the FC College Accounting Department from 2004 to 2010. In July 2010, Rafiq along with his wife and four children immigrated to the United States to join his brothers, sisters, and extended family. He settled in The Colony with his family and worked diligently for the last eleven years at DFW Airport. He played a vital role in all his children’s education and supported them throughout their careers; it was due to his support, guidance, and prayers that all three of his daughters graduated and became RN BSNs and his son graduated and has a fulfilling career as a Mechanical Engineer.
Rafiq was a strong believer in Jesus Christ throughout his life and took pride in teaching his children and grandchildren the ways of the Lord. He joined Grace Community Church with Pastor George Masih and served as an Elder of the church to the very end.
Rafiq was known for his kind and loving nature and had a generous heart for supporting and comforting those in need. He treasured his relationships with family and friends, both near and far as he truly was an amazing son, brother, cousin, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, friend, and colleague.
He went to be with the Lord peacefully on the evening of December 14, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his elder brother, Nazir R. Gill. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, his brothers Munir R. Gill, Nasir A. Gill, Rashid A. Gill, his sisters Zarina Samar, Parveen Butta, Rubina Phineas, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
His fond memories will always be cherished in the hearts of his family and loved ones.
