Peggy Brewer

April 15, 1942 — March 2, 2021

Peggy Ruth Brewer, age 78 of Garland, TX, peacefully passed away in the early morning of March 2, 2021 in Carrollton, TX. Peggy was born on April 15, 1942 in Annona, TX to father, Bennie Parker and mother, Fannie Bell Parker. She was tremendously independent, full of life and love, and when she laughed, everyone else laughed with her. She had a smile and a heart of gold and to know her was to love her.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Donna "D.D." Sams & son-in-law, Preston Sams of Garland, TX; 3 grandkids, Richard, Alicia & Katie Tavares; 2 great grandkids, RJ & Barron; brother James Parker; sisters, Alice Parker & Virginia Dunlap of Wylie, TX, and many nieces & nephews who she loved dearly. She had an uncountable number of friends, and she cherished each one of those friendships a great deal.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Brewer; mother and father, Bennie & Fannie Bell Parker; sisters Opal Sehorne & Bennie Jo Aubrey; brothers Charles Weldon Parker and Wilburn Parker; brothers-in-law, Phil Parker, Paul "Sleepy" Sehorne, Paul Aubrey, & Gene Dunlap; sister-in-law, Betty Parker; as well as her nephew, James David Parker. Peggy resided in Annona, TX from birth until graduating from Annona High School in 1960, then moved to Dallas for better job opportunities. She worked for Texas Instruments in the Quality Control department for 39 years before retiring in 1999. She fell head-over-heels in love with the late Ralph Brewer and got to marry the love of her life in 1982. They were married for 7 years until his death in 1988.

Peggy was a wonderful mother to D.D., raising her as a single mother. She inspired dedication to family to her daughter, who in-turn raised her 3 children with the same intensity and love. Peggy was dedicated to making sure her family was taken care of and always happy. She enjoyed, more than anything, spoiling her grandkids and great grandkids, partial to the great-grands. She attended almost every sporting event they played; you could always find her on the sideline cheering them on. She never missed an opportunity to very proudly show them off to anyone and everyone who would listen.

Peggy was a devout Christian and proudly attended First Baptist Church of Sachse for many years. She enjoyed her church, her friends, and spending as much time with her family as possible. She was the most caring, loving, genuine and kindhearted person you could ever meet. She would talk for hours on the phone with family, friends and neighbors, Peggy selflessly wanted to know everything going on in their lives – how they were doing, how their mom, kids, and family were doing. She truly cared about everyone who crossed her path. Peggy Brewer was the definition of "unconditional love".

Peggy was a fantastic baker. Every holiday season, family and friends looked forward to receiving not just one batch of banana nut bread, but a loaf of bread, plus a tin full of her famous "Billy-goat" cookies, chocolate chip cookies, fudge, peanut clusters, and anything else she wanted to send home with the people she loved so much. All who knew her will miss the one called "Granny". It brought joy to her heart to be everyone's "Granny".
