Peggy Rose Bates

March 25, 1950 — May 19, 2022

Peggy Rose Bates, age 72 of Blue Ridge, Texas, passed away on May 19, 2022 in Farmersville, Texas. She was born on March 25, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Florence (Kushner) Manning. Peggy married Loyd Bates on December 11, 1970 at the Verona Methodist Church in Verona, Texas. She was a member of Snowhill Baptist Church in Farmersville.

Peggy worked for the Princeton ISD for many years in the cafeteria serving nutritious meals to the students. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, as well. Peggy loved working crossword puzzles, and shopping from catalogs. She was a "professional" shopper. These activities brought her much joy, but her biggest joy was spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Peggy touched the lives of so many, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Loyd Bates; one son, Darrell Bates and wife, Dedra; one daughter, Tammy Lynn Wall and husband, Donald; three brothers, Joseph Manning, Buck Manning, and Spike Manning; one sister, Sharon Harris; one step-brother, Dennis Davidson; one step-sister, Debbie Davidson; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 11:00 am at Midway Baptist Church, 205 S. Bridgefarmer Road, McKinney, Texas 75069.
