Paula Elaine (Powell) Dearman gained her angel wings at the age of 62 on March 6, 2025. She was born to Willie Elvis Martin and Thurman Julius Hinson on May 26, 1962 in Fannin County.
Paula worked as a bartender at the American Legion. She volunteered her time here and served several officer positions of the American Legion Auxiliary. This is where she met the love of her life, Danny Ray Dearman. Paula and Danny were married June 26, 2015.
Paula had a real zest for life and loved her family to the fullest. She enjoyed listening and dancing to music, traveling to the beach, and became a member of the disc golf community through her son, David Wayne. She built her brand of Guardian Penguin in honor of his passion. Paula was passionate about her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren. Paula loved her fur-babies and the Dallas Cowboys.
Paula is survived by: Daughter Twila Michelle (Honea) Shaw, Son Michael Douglas Honea, and (Son/Grandson) Donovon Reece Honea as well as her siblings Robert Hinson, Thelma Hinson, Linda Wagner, Merideth Powell, Nancy Peacock, and Norma Schunatz. Paula was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren: Zachary Gilliland, April Gilliland, McKenzie Honea, Aiden Fitchpatrick, Adalyn Fitchpatrick, and Kerby Smith. Paula has been received by her parents, 6 siblings, Husband Danny, Son David Wayne, and Grandson Gavin Lane.
The family will be receiving visitors at Charles W. Smith and Sons in McKinney, Texas on Thursday, March 13, 6p - 8p for family and friends. The service will be held at the same location on Friday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m
