Patrick Quentin Riley

April 25, 1962 — January 11, 2014

Patrick Riley passed away suddenly on January 11th, 2014 at his home in McKinney, Texas. Pat was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and spent his earlier years there and in Pasadena, California. In 1974, his family of eight (five brothers and a sister) moved to the Dallas area, a place he'd call home for nearly four decades. Pat graduated from Plano Senior High in 1980 and the University of Texas at Dallas in 1990. He married Belinda Bostick in 1987, and their one son, Sean, was born in 1991. Pat worked for much of his life at Southland Corporation and Electronic Data Systems/Hewlett Packardfrom which he retired in 2012. But it was an unmitigated love of the outdoors that led him to his true passionscamping, fishing, birdwatching, stargazing, gardening, photography, kite flying, air shows, and grilling/smoking elaborate meals for his dearest friends and family. In 2007, Pat met Janet Herndon, and the two spent several years traveling and enjoying the great outdoors, before marrying in 2010. They lived together in Melissa, TX, with their three dogs.

Pat is survived by Sean Patrick Riley, of Dallas; grandson Quintinn P. Riley (b. 2010); parents Vroman and Cynthia, of Redondo Beach, CA; brother Mark, of Oakland, CA; brother Matthew (Dina), of San Antonio, TX; sister Lynn (Carl), of Redondo Beach, CA; sister-in-law Tracy, of Oakland, CA; sister-in-law Brenda, of Manahawkin, NJ; sister-in-law Patti, of Manhattan Beach, CA; nephews Daniel, Alec, and Ian; niece Dana (Blake); ex-wife Belinda Hill; ex-wife Janet Herndon and countless other family members and friends.
