Sue (Watson) Hinkley, mother of Steven and Michael Pettit, and Dena (Hinkley) Parry, was born April 10, 1938 on a very sandy cotton farm in Hooleyan, TX. A small, unincorporated town near the Red River Northwest of Quanah, Tx. She grew up there with two brothers, Henry Watson and Howard Watson, and a sister, Lavada (Watson) Bradley, who passed on January 17, 2020.
Family and friends were always important to her. Family events were a joy for her and us kids. Sue stayed close to her siblings over the years. She has 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She worked as a secretary for over 35 years. Those skills were put to great use when she edited the book celebrating the 100th year anniversary of White Deer, Tx.
Always a lady of grace and dignity, Mom passed June 21, 2021. She is now enjoying her new body, free from pain and disease. She might even be dribbling a basketball!
