Garland, TX – Pat Ruppi Jr, 66, passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 30th 2019 following a lengthy battle with a rare form of dementia.
He leaves his wife of 43 years, Cindy (Walker) Ruppi; his son, Brent Ruppi; his brother Paul Ruppi and his wife Amy Ruppi; his nephew Kyle Walker; his nieces Mykaila Boyett, Jennifer Ruppi and Natalie Ruppi; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Born and raised in Paterson, NJ, the son of Pat Sr. and Gilda (Agnes) Ruppi. Pat relocated to Dallas in the 1970s to achieve his dream of being a commercial architect.
In his early years, Mr. Ruppi would spend many days on the golf course as a caddy, which fed his passion for the sport for many years. After graduating from Eastside High School in 1969 as a member of the varsity baseball team, Pat made the journey across the Hudson river to earn his degree in Architecture from The City College of New York. He met his wife, Cindy Ruppi, and they were married in 1976.
After arriving in Dallas, Pat had the opportunity to join Searle (Pearl) Vision as a Senior Director of construction. Pat later followed the retail boom in Dallas reinventing the consumer shopping experience with County Seat and later for the Mills Corporation.
Mr. Ruppi had a passion for sports as a longtime fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, SMU Mustangs and Oklahoma Sooners. Pat was also an avid golfer, winning many tournaments in the area over the years.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019, 2pm at the Charles W. Smith Funeral Home, 2925 5th St. Sachse, TX.
