Pan Yaqin

March 30, 1946 — September 17, 2024

Allen

Yaqin Pan, 78, of Allen, TX, passed away on September 17, 2024, due to complications from heart failure and stroke.

Born on March 30, 1946, in Beijing, China, Yaqin grew up with her parents, two brothers, and one sister. She was academically gifted, which led to her acceptance into the prestigious Peking Union Medical College. However, her medical training was interrupted during the Chinese Cultural Revolution, during which many medical students, including Yaqin, were sent to the countryside as part of the movement.

After the Cultural Revolution, Yaqin returned to Beijing, where she completed her medical training and practiced as an allergist. In 1984, in pursuit of further advancing her career, Yaqin met Dr. Rea, a renowned allergist and pioneer in environmental medicine. She joined his clinic in Dallas, TX, where she found great fulfillment working with her patients. She retired in 2019 after a long and dedicated career.

Yaqin embraced her new life in Dallas with enthusiasm. She was energized and outgoing, and after retirement, she developed a passion for gardening, sharing the produce with her friends and neighbors. She was a supportive mother and a loving and proud grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Yu Zhao of Minneapolis, along with her two grandchildren, Bella and Ethan. She is also survived by her partner, Charlie Guo of Dallas, her sister, and several nephews in China.
