Pamelia West

April 9, 1959 — October 15, 2019

Pamelia Diane West (Pam) of Sunnyvale, TX passed away in her home, following a recent finding of cancer, surrounded by her family on October 15, 2019.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years Billy Gene West; son Adam (Julie) West; daughter Brooke (Tyler) Butler; daughter Lauren (Jonathan) Stubbs; as well as her beloved grandchildren; Katie, Jacob, Bella, Drew, Levi, Maddie Joy, Kenleigh, Arrow, and Titus. She is also survived by her mother Oneta Keisler; sister Kim (John) Reed; half brother Kevin Kesterson; and her extended family through marriage, nieces and nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by daughter Melissa Ray; father Robert Glen Kesterson; both sets of grandparents; and her mother-in-love Frances Jean West.

Pam was born on April 9th, 1959 in Pine Bluff, AR. She was a pastor's wife who loved everyone she met - literally everyone she met. Whether it was the Wal-mart greeter, the countless friends brought home by her children, or a fellow church member going through a rough time, they were instantly and most genuinely loved.

She was an accomplished songwriter. She sang and wrote thousands of songs for different church events, funerals, weddings, anniversaries, and of course the occasional 5th Sunday hymn sing - where it was a guarantee that the West family would be attending and singing. Pam had the opportunity to share the stage with many great Gospel singers attending the Stamps Baxter School of Music, where she received a full scholarship and was awarded based on her vocal performance.

Although her life had seen many hardships; she always had a smile, always had a hug, and always said "I love you!" She also always offered a shoulder to cry on. Pam was diagnosed with Huntington's Disease almost ten years. This newly discovered disease, had major effects on her nerves, motor skills, and mental capacities. However, it has never affected her joy and heart to love others.

Oh Happy Day!

In many of the songs she wrote, it seemed as if she was worried about the day that she would pass away; not because of where she was going, or how she would pass, but it was actually her family, friends, and loved ones that she was constantly worried about. She wanted to make sure she told all of us why she had such a passion to sing, and she wanted us to feel what it felt like to be loved by someone, and that there is only one person who has a perfect love and she wants you to know Him too. His name is Jesus Christ. We are sinners who need a savior. Jesus came, Jesus died, and He rose again to be the punishment of all of our sins. So that now there is victory in Jesus! There is salvation in Jesus! There is hope in Jesus! We have a blessed assurance that we will see Pamelia again. Today we celebrate all that God has done for you, for me, and for Pamelia. She wanted you to understand that there is Hope found in placing your faith in Jesus, and knowing and loving a perfect King, Savior, and Father.

Thank you Lord for a mom, wife, aunt, daughter, and friend who showed us genuine earthly Love. We know she is singing in Your presence today.

"We love because He first loved us."
